ELIZABETH WORTH

In 2020 Elizabeth Worth left a substantial legacy to benefit the life of the parish. She herself was a longstanding member of our community and had run a prayer group, helped with lunches and the social side of events and been a friend to many. The creation of a new Elizabeth Worth Parish Centre would be a fitting memorial to her life with us.

THE PARISH CENTRE: CONNECTING OUR PARISH LIFE

Our buildings suffer at present from a lack of connectivity - you cannot access the halls from the church, or access the halls independently, meaning less activities and less revenue. The church itself is a vibrant social hub hosting a playgroup with up to 100 people, weekly recitals, a community lunch for up to 50 each week, as well a special events over the year attended by over 200. More social space is needed and more lavatories! The parish centre will connect our buildings, create a new WC block, and an up to date kitchen.

A NEW FRONT FOR THE PARISH

With this work we will also refurbish and extend the upper hall. This will provide a new front for the parish, complementing the church building with a contemporary, open glass front, connecting with our outside spaces and the other parish spaces. The new look room will create opportunities for social, charity and community events with a fresher presentation, as well as improving facilities for our nursery.
